Obama knows History

"...Emperor Hirohito coming down and signing a surrender to MacArthur," Obama told ABC News.

For the non-Obama version (what normal people call "the truth") go here.

What a maroon.

Anthropogenic? Ummm...not so much

How many "Waterloos" can one guy have in a week?

Nature not man responsible for recent global warming

Three Australian researchers have shown that natural forces are the dominant influence on climate, in a study just published in the highly-regarded Journal of Geophysical Research. According to this study little or none of the late 20th century global warming and cooling can be attributed to human activity.

"The surge in global temperatures since 1977 can be attributed to a 1976 climate shift in the Pacific Ocean that made warming El Niño conditions more likely than they were over the previous 30 years and cooling La Niña conditions less likely" says corresponding author de Freitas.

"We have shown that internal global climate-system variability accounts for at least 80% of the observed global climate variation over the past half-century. It may even be more if the period of influence of major volcanoes can be more clearly identified and the corresponding data excluded from the analysis.”

According to the three researchers, ENSO-related warming during El Niño conditions is caused by a stronger Hadley Cell circulation moving warm tropical air into the mid-latitudes. During La Niña conditions the Pacific Ocean is cooler and the Walker circulation, west to east in the upper atmosphere along the equator, dominates.

"When climate models failed to retrospectively produce the temperatures since 1950 the modellers added some estimated influences of carbon dioxide to make up the shortfall," says McLean.

"The close relationship between ENSO and global temperature, as described in the paper, leaves little room for any warming driven by human carbon dioxide emissions. The available data indicate that future global temperatures will continue to change primarily in response to ENSO cycling, volcanic activity and solar changes.”

So.  Nature (primarily) NOT man-made (anthropogenic) forces are responsible for AT LEAST 80% of any measured global temperature increases.  Not coal-fired power plants.  Not EXXON-Mobil.  Not your F-150 or your bat-b-que grill.  And it's peer reviewed, the bugaboo the lefties use against their detractors on this issue.  "Well, your science isn't peer-reviewed! "  They can't just pass this off.  Additionally, the UN IPCC is specifically sited, revealing they knew this mechanism was working and their climate models can't effectively account for it more than 12 months out.

All those extrapolations out to 2030, 2050 or even 2100 are...wait for it...GUESSES

Nature.  Who woulda thunk it?

More ammunition in the continuing "car & trade" fight.

"Let me be perfectly clear..."

Totally cool now if we don't get "health care" by August:

So...why did he have the presser last night again?  And still blaming Republicans.

Another thing that strikes me about this:  If nothing gets done in Washington without a deadline, and apparently now nothing gets done with a deadline, then what's all the fuss about?

Note his admonition to the Senate to “just keep working” while they’re getting ready to, um, take a month off. Exit question: If health-care reform is such an urgent national priority, why aren’t the Democrats suspending their vacations to pass it?

If a doctor is after your kids tonsils...

Blinded by profit, doctors often try to remove tonsils from children. If your doctor wants to remove your child’s tonsils, take some step to make sure it’s necessary.

* Ask the doctor if he’s considered whether the problem could be just allergies or something.

* Ask how much profit will he make from this “necessary” procedure.

* Take your child’s medical files and send it to Barack Obama. He or another qualified bureaucrat will determine whether the operation is necessary.

* Wait eight to ten months for a response.

Remember: Only you can prevent doctors from making a profit off your kids’ tonsils.

Posted in it's enirety from IMAOHead over and read the "Random Thoughts" post.  Goof stuff at a funny blog.

Seriously?

A few things about Obama's presser struck me as just fantastical.

First of all, why the whining about needing to get this passed?  Your party controls the House of Representatives, the Senate and you yourself sit in the White House.  Democrats control the executive and legislative branches of the government.  Though you may dislike the criticism from your opponents Mr. President, they can't do a damn thing to stop anything you want done.  The only reason you aren't getting this passed "right now" is the resistance of your own party.  The resistance and hesitation your fellow Democrats are giving you is coming from the electorate, the American people.

It's been said before, but needs to be said again - the campaign is over Mr. President.  "You won."  Quite whining like a fourth-grader and LEAD.  I know it's harder at the top, but the constant campaign tactic of blaming the other guy isn't going to work.  You and your party own this.  If it's such a banging deal, then what's the problem?

The irresponsibility of this man is also fantastical.  Admittedly "not knowing all the facts" yet still condemning police officers for doing their job is the height of demogoguery.

Did you notice that everytime he seemed to get stuck in his train of thought, he just threw out something "about the children"?  If you "or your child" gets a sore throat?  The intent?  Scare the hell out of people.  "If we don't get this passed, you're children will DIE!"  Nice reasoned and rational argument.

Wasn't Bush excoriated for his "mission accomplished" speech?  Every leftist on the planet used that one against him for the remainder of his terms in office.  "Mission accomplished?  We're still fighting, blah, blah, blah..."  Obama says the "stimulus" worked as planned and we are on the right track, "back from the brink" I think were his words.   Then went right into how things are still tough, unemployment and other indicators will still "lag", etc.  Ummm...if the "stimulus" 'worked' then why isn't anything better?  And if the "stimulus" was always intended to take several years to "work" (as you and others have stated), then why the lofty rhetoric about how it has already "worked"?

The whole 'blaming Republicans' and then not five minutes later saying you weren't 'blaming Republicans' was a particularly nice move.

Predatory tonsillectomies Mr. President?  Really?

After promising not to raise taxes on the "middle class", Obama finally admitted he would raise taxes on the "middle class" to pay for this fiasco - though "not primarily" or "completely shouldered" on that same "middle class".  There goes all those free tanks of gas and mortages...

I'd like to see some of those letters from Americans Obama referenced last night.  I really would.  I would also like to see some letters from those Americans who disagree and want no part of this monstrosity.  Also, what kinds of phone calls and e-mails is the White House getting on this issue?  Why no consideration for the other half?  Only Americans who want the government involved matter?  Doesn't the President have a responsibility to ALL citizens, not just those who agree with him?

And though this debate "isn't about me (him)" he constantly returned the focus back to himself, though it isn't about him, it is.  Or isn't.  Maybe.

I haven't seen actual train wrecks as bad as this train wreck of a presser.  The guy isn't even trying to be consistent in his lying anymore.
