What the hell is wrong with this guy?

"Probe" in this case being a euphemism for investigation.  So instead of prosecuting the war against the Taliban, an organization with no, shall we say redeeming qualities, we need to spend more time, money and lives trying to concoct some "they hate us because" meme?  Let's be frank.  The Taliban are murdering, tyranical thugs who want nothing more than to subjugate the world (not just Afghanistan) under a theocratic oligarghy.  In layman's terms, they want to enslave everyone under their thumb and force them to worship their god.  Anyone getting in the way should be killed.

These monsters refuse to fight under the "rules of war" so they are not subject to the protections of those same rules.  I cannot believe that we still have, now in our very own President, people more interested in the welfare of our enemy more than in ourselves.

Additionally, I'm no 'Constitutional Scholar" like our vaunted leader, but this doesn't seem like it would be binding anyway.  The Northern Alliance doesn't exist as an organization anymore, and the current Afghan government didn't exist at the time of the supposed "war  crimes".  So who exacty are we investigating here?  Ah, there's the rub.  This isn't an investigation into the Northern Alliance or any of our allies as much as it's another attempt to place blame and keep the spotlight on the evil Chimpy BushMcHiter, rather than on this administrations own failures.

There is a benefit in this strategy - for the Democrats.  Just as with the investigations into the "super sekrit" CIA program that wasn't, this is to divert attention away from investigating legitimate issues - like Speaker Pelosi making unsubstantiated accusations against the CIA, or even looking into where the "Stimulus" money went

We've cowtowed to every other despotic regime on the planet in the past six months.  Giving the Talibam some love fits right into the Obama foreign policy narrative.
