532,000 jobs NOT saved in May

So if we subtract the 150,000 jobs Obama says he saved and add to that the jobs lost since the "stimulus" was passed, we're looking at a couple million jobs NOT saved (in fact LOST) over the past few months, proving Obama isn't just misleading the public but he's a damn liar and the "stimulus" hasn't done a damn thing but bankrupt America.

More here.  Oh, and Aprils numbers (which I think Obama used in his "saved 150,000 jobs" meme) were revised down - Smart Power!

It's funny, the wording in this article.  This new information is somehow used to make the case that the economic recovery is stalled.  How can an economy stall if it isn't recovering yet?  Also, the "ray of hope" is another report showing layoffs slowing.  Well, duh.  I'm no economist, but companies who lay off workers eventually stop laying off workers, right?  I suppose this could be a sign of some stabilization, but hardly a "ray of hope".

Solar, Wind power not good enough for Iran?

Nuclear power in United States = bad.

Nuclear power in Iran = legitimate.

So sayeth President Obama (pbuh).

There is no more striking example of the hypocrisy of this president and this administration.  If Iran were only concerned with "the peaceful production of energy" then why not invest the money they are spending on nuclear for refining the huge oil reserves they now possess?  Why not invst in conventional means of energy production like natural gas?

If there is a concern about the environmental impact of "conventional" energy (as opposed to nuclear) then why isn't there the same level of concern for Iran as there is in the US?  If it's ok for Iran to build nuclear power plants for energy production, surely it would be alright to produce nuclear energy here?  Honestly, which country is better prepared for constructing new, safe, and environmetally friendly nuclear plants, the US or Iran?

Additionally, if Iran is in such dire need of energy, then isn't Obama remiss in not telling the Iranians to invest in the same technologies he is advocating in the US?  Why isn't Obama or this administration calling for Iran to build wind farms and solar plants?  Iran's geography and population density is ideal for the construction of these types of plants.  And the weather (sunny a lot of the time) is ideal for solar energy production as well.

All of the above is written with tongue firmly planted in cheek.  Of course any rational, reasoned person knows Iran's only intention for the construction of nuclear power is the ultimate possesion of enough fissable material for the construction of nuclear weapons.  In other words, Iran's quest for nuclear power is to energy what their continued development of missile technology is to space exploration.

President Obama is wrong in his assertion that Iran's need is legitimate.  A nation who wishes to enter the "nuclear family" is no big deal in and of itself.  We have no worries about France or Great Britain for example.  There are some concerns about China and Russia naturally, but with a big difference - both of those nations have at least demonstrated some responsibility in their use of nuclear power and the construction of nuclear weapons.  States like Iran have not demonstrated the responsibility to be trusted with such power.  Iran is a terror sponsoring state for goodness sake, yet President Obama feels their need for nuclear power is legitimate?

Once again, the president's words bely his naivete or his complete stupidity on this subject.  It is also hard not to ascribe a more sinister motive - that Obama truly believes Iran isn't a "bad" country, simply misunderstood and oppressed by the US and others (namely Israel).  On this last point, President Obama's speech to the "muslim world" this week will be very illustrative.

Iran's race to acquire nuclear power has only one inteneded purpose - the acquisition of nuclear weapons.  To think otherwise is suicidal.

"Jobs saved" claim pure 'Barbra Steisand'

Or bullshinola if you prefer:

Here's an important note to my friends in the news media: the White House has absolutely no earthly clue how many job losses have been prevented because of the stimulus bill. None. Not Christina Romer. Not Jared Bernstein. Not Austen Goolsbee.

Each of these distinguished economists would have failed Statistics 101 for making such a laughable claim. But we see them now repeating these assertions to reporters who have seemingly abandoned all skepticism.

Why didn't we think of this before?

How to soothe the savage Iranian heart?  Invite them to a 4th of July celebration!

Unfortunately, this is not a joke:

In a new overture to Iran, the Obama administration has authorized U.S. embassies around the world to invite Iranian officials to Independence Day parties they host on or around July 4th.

A State Department cable sent to all U.S. embassies and consulates late last week said that U.S. diplomats could ask their Iranian counterparts to attend the festivities, which generally feature speeches about American values, fireworks, hot dogs and hamburgers.

If only we had sent a hamburger to Imadinnerjacket, we could have avoided all of this silly "Great Satan" talk.  Smart diplomacy indeed!

In other vexing news from the Middle East the US refuses to sell some attack helicopters to our ally, Israel.  Obama has rightly discovered that giving the evil Juice more military firepower would just be unfair or something.  There is a concern you see.  This move is to reduce civilian casualties in Gaza (yes, I'm serious).  Our arab friends in Egypt though, they can have twelve.  Because nothing says arab friendship like suicide bombings, car bombings, bus bombings, etc.  (or flying planes into skyscrapers and murdering innocents...)

(Of course I'm being glib, mostly, but is there anyone else who feels this administration would handle things better on the foreign policy front if they just used a Magic 8 Ball?)

Outrageous Outrage

For all the good it will do for some who'll take what I write in this post out of context, let me state frankly and clearly:

The murder of George Tiller is a despicable crime and the perpetrator should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Also, those on the Left opining with your contrived outrageous outrage on this horrible incident:  shut the hell up.

For Leftists to manufacture such "outrage" is rank hypocrisy at best.  None of the persons (from the Left) railing about this incident have anything to say, indeed there is nary a mention of the unborn lives lost everyday.  I find it hypocritical in fact for Leftists to gnash their proverbial teeth together in such righteous indignation over the murder of Mr. Tiller yet can't seem to spare a word, ever, for those lives lost during abortions.  You have no credibility to all of a sudden consider life so sacred.

The murder of Mr. Tiller is a heinous crime.  Regardless of what someone thinks about Mr. Tiller's "sins" no one has justification to circumvent the rule of law for some perceived notion of justice.  If you can't work within the system, then you are worthless and ultimately damn yourself and your so-called "cause".

For those on the Left who feel the need to politicize this incident beyond all form of rationality, beware.  You are fooling no one with your manufactured scorn.  In fact you reveal your true charater and motives.  If "life" truly meant anything to you beyond a means of furthering a political agenda, if Mr. Tillers murder truly meant anything to you beyond a talking point, you would take a step back and re-evaluate how important all life really is.

Ah, the Circle of Life...

MY OLDEST IS OUT OF THE HOUSE!!!!!

We helped her move out this past Saturday into her first apartment.  It is just down the road and close to home, but she is finally on her own.  At 20 she's doing pretty well for herself - full time job, paying her way through college, she is doing well.

My son, he'll be out in a matter of weeks.  Going to basic training in the Air Force!  He's 18 and will be on his own.

Alas, we still have one "child", our baby, who just turned 16 a few weeks ago.  Two more years of high school for that one...

Two kids out, one more to go; retiring from the Service in a few months...

I love it when a plan comes together!

BWAHAHAHAHAahahahahaha!!!!!!!
