Government will require you to be "healthy"

The government will set what constiutes the "ideal" weight.

The government will set what constitutes your "proper" diet.

The government will set everything which will constitute your "health".

If you deviate from the government "standards" you will face a penalty in higher taxes, higher "fees", higher "premiums" or ultimately what health care the government will provide to you in your time of need.

The government necessarily will provide the cheapest, least specialized, least beneficial health care to you if we the citizenry allow for government run "health care".  Don't believe me?  All you need is to think of your local or state jail or prison system.  These systems are run exclusively by the government and any doctors or other health care providers are contracted by the government and all/any issues are dealt with through a bureaucracy.  The patient is ultimately cared for as needs arise sure, but patient needs are secondary to keeping costs down.  In this instance the government has no inherent interest in actually caring for a prisoner, simply keeping the prisoner as healthy as the government deems they should be in the cheapest manner possible.Cost is the number one issue.  Care is not.

Certainly the government would care for the citizenry a sight better than prisoners, or would they?  One of the largest justifications you will hear from any advocate of instituting government health care is to reduce the cost.  Cost is always primary.  Just listen to the rhetoric!  Almost in the same sentence you will invariably hear "We must reduce the cost of health care so everyone has access." or something similar.  Care must be "affordable".  Everyone must have "access".  If quality is even mentioned, it is always secondary to cost.

And if you allow the government to control something especially if money is involved, they will provide "instructions" or "guidance" on the requirements which you will have to adhere to to have the much vaunted "access".  Just look at what the government has done with TARP if you don't think they will impose draconian requirements.

This system has failed everywhere it has been tried on such a massive scale.  To do so here in the US would be disastrous.
