Ministry of Truth 'cleanses' abortion story?

Another case of an attempted abortion gone awry.  What is interesting is that the original story, posted in a Buffalo newspaper, appears to have been changed from it's original form.  The change leaves out the goriest and worst of the details (saved in cache format) leaving one with the impression that this was just a simple accident as opposed to what it really is...

Is there global warming in Space?

Why does NASA need $450 million bailout dollars, $200 million of which are to go to "climate-research missions"?

Hasn't NASA's James Hansen given the clarion call that "the debate is over", "the science is settled"?  Hooray!  Then why the extra bucks, bucko?

Side note:  Also from the government telling us the globe is warming and we're all doomed - $87 million for an icebreaker ship.  I thought the Arctic sea ice was going to be gone before too long?  Surely this ship won't be breaking ice for my cocktails?

A great breakdown of the garbage being passed off as a stimulus.

Obama's tantrum, er, leadership

President Obama, fresh off his first Washington apology tour, grew combative Wednesday, asserting that America voted for him, not the other guy, and demanding that lawmakers "put aside politics" -- well, Republican lawmakers, anyway.

As I wrote earlier today, isn't this awesome leadership?  Even Senator Graham has taken a shot a President Obama.

"Now, in the past few days I've heard criticisms of this plan that echo the very same failed theories that helped lead us into this crisis -- the notion that tax cuts alone will solve all our problems," the president said at the White House. "I reject that theory, and so did the American people when they went to the polls in November and voted resoundingly for change."

Let him say this.  Let him.  When this bill gets pushed through and fails, Obama will have no one to cover his arse, even if one or two Republicans vote with him.  Let him own it.  Let Obama and the Democrats bathe in their excess.  Let them drown in it.  The more they engage in rhetorical gamesmanship, the more they fly off on tax-payer funded vacations retreats, the more the American people will realize they were sold a bill of goods.

Not even President for three weeks and he already is headed to a "retreat"?  Ironic.

Pass it already and quit bitching

Barack Obama is probably the weakest leader America has ever had.

How can a man, who controls the White House and whose party controls Congress (both the House and the Senate), be complaining about how his "stimulus plan" hasn't been passed yet?

In week three of unicorns and rainbows Obama goes all in on the fear mongering"This recession might linger for years. Our economy will lose 5 million more jobs. Unemployment will approach double digits. Our nation will sink deeper into a crisis that, at some point, we may not be able to reverse..."  Obama is saying that if we don't pass his "stimulus plan" now, our nation may not recover.  WHAT?!  If we don't pass the Obama "stimulus plan", this particular "stimulus plan" and if we don't do it NOW - our nation is through?!  Talk about hubris!  What arrogance!

Riddle me this Dear Leader:  If you are so all fired sure the country will not recover from this "crisis" then why hasn't the bloody "stimulus plan" been passed already?  Why all the wrangling and press conferences and op eds?  If we need action now, then why haven't you and your Democrat buddies acted?  Are you saying that you are betting the future of the country on your version of bi-partisanship?  If the situation is a dire as you suggest, why are you using bi-partisanship as an excuse to hold things up?  Your party controls both Houses of Congress - you can act without ANY Republican votes, sponsorship or support.  Indeed, you are duty bound to act in such a fashion regardless of party for the good of the nation!  What are you waiting for Mr. President?  The country is on the verge of collapse and you have cold feet?

This is rich:  "I reject these theories, and so did the American people when they went to the polls in November and voted resoundingly for change," he wrote.  Obama is referring to Republican calls for more tax breaks and spending cuts.  I ask again:  What are you waiting for Mr. President?  You categorically state you reject Republican plans for the stimulus.  You do not need Republican support to pass the stimulus.  Why are you writing op eds about the dire need?  Pass your bill already and quit complaining!

Pass your legislation President Obama.  You're right, you won.  Democrats won.  Quite complaining about inaction.  Part of winning and being in charge is action.  Do it with your Democrat buddies.  You can do it all by yourselves, there is no need for bi-partisanship.  Pass it on your own since the need is so dire.

When it fails, you and your buddies will own the true crisis created by your meddling.

Some disasters don't count

Obama reads to school children while citizens of Kentucky suffer:

How bad does a natural disaster need to be that even Hurrican Katrina workers say it's bad?  This bad.

You could write all day about the correlation and contrasts to this and the Katrina disaster.  True, the loss of life is not nearly as bad (does it matter?) but there is one similarity which isn't getting much, if any, press - the lack of any response from FEMA.

There is another contrast which isn't getting much press either - how the citizens of Kentucky are "mowing through" this disaster as opposed to the citizens of Louisiana (particularly New Orleans).  Kentuckians are helping one another, are working to get things back on, etc.  The citizens of New Orleans had their hands out.

Additionally, there is no excoriating of Obama for his obvious lack of concern for Kentucky.  Bush was hung out to dry by a lot of people for reading to school kids on September 11th.  Obama is out with the wife reading to school kids while his fellow citizens of Kentucky go without power.  Some might argue that the Kentucky ice storm isn't on the scale of September 11th.  True.  However, how many days was it after Katrina that Bush went to New Orleans and the Gulf coast?  Three or five days?  I forget exactly (it was within days) but he went to the area and did his job.

This ice storm was what, two weeks ago?  People in Kentucky are STILL without basic services (and FEMA) like electricity - and Obama is out with the wife reading to school kids.  He hasn't even visited Kentucky.  No wringing of hands from the Left, the kook left finge or the leftist media about Obama not doing ANYTHING for Kentucky.  Amazingly there is also no conspiratorial outcry about why Obama isn't doing anything about Kentucky because most of those affected by the storm and without services are poor white folk.  No mention as to how the power lines "were brought down".  Perhaps those power lines were destroyed by demolition (like the levies in New Orleans)?

Crickets.

More here.

Is a part of Obama in you?

They give directions on their site with instrution on how you can "merge" yourself with the Hive Queen Obama collective President Obama.

Yes, I am totally serious.

If you don't get the obvious joke think of this:  Obama, his "stimulus package" and inserting it into a certain part of your anatomy.  Then you will understand what it would be like to have some of Obama in you.

Cancelling missile defense just in time

While we make ourselves more vulnerable to our enemies, Iran and North Korea fully embrace Dear Leaders President Obama's views on Hope and Change.

A bit of irony the Iranians have named their satellite Omid, meaning "Hope"?

Perhaps a veiled indication of future action?

Iran has no plans to use the ballistic missile technology for the delivery of nuclear warheads though, so it's all good.  The Iranians are peaceful we are told.  We can put that particular red herring to bed forEVah.

The North Koreans have also embraced the worlds new climate of togetherness.  They want to test another long range missile.  So the starving citizens of that country can get HDTV or something I guess, not deliver nuclear warheads to Hawaii or Alaska.  Whew

We should have elected Obama decades ago!  Think of all the cynicism and derision the whole world could have avoided...

Obama's Two Week Report Card

A rundown of Obama FAILS in just his first two weeks as President.
That Obama would have so many FAILS in just two weeks bodes well for the next three years, fifty weeks (in no particular order):

1.  Bill Richardson out over a Federal indictment.  Something no one has mentioned is that these issues were there when this poster boy for above-board business dealings was running for POTUS.  I don't know what is scarier, that Bill ran for POTUS knowing he was a crook, or the pass he received from the MSM on this issue while running for POTUS.

2.  Hillary Clinton, our new Secretary of State.  She'll be dealing with some of the same foreign governments who donated copious amounts of money to hubby Bill's foundation.  Knowing the long, storied political integrity of both Clintons, I'm sure there'll be no problems.  Conflicts of interest could not possibly affect the "smartest woman in the world".  She also wrote a book *giggle*.  the woman is more than qualified.  The irony is that she lost to the only guy in the race with less actual experience running anything than herself.

3.  Eric Holder, our new Attorney General.  The issue of his hand in pardoning Clinton crony Marc Rich, as well as his dealing with pardoning terrorists will have no bearing whatsoever as to his judgment in future criminal matters.  Really.

4.  Tim Geithner, our new Treasury Secreatry.  Our new head of the IRS doesn't feel tha need to pay personal income taxes over a period of years.  All is forgiven however when Geitner aplogizes.  His failure to pay those taxes over a period of years was just a "mistake" after all.  Ponder to yourself, if you haven't already, if you would be forgiven such a "mistake".  Also there is no concern that this "only man who understands the bailout" couldn't figure out how Turbo Tax works.  If this weren't real and the guy weren't already confirmed and seated in the post, you'd probably be laughing right now at the absurdity of the whole situation.  And don't forget he had at one point during this same time employed an immigrant who "didn't have papers".  The guy didn't give a crap about the countries tax laws, why should our nations employment and immigration laws be any different?

5.  Tom Daschle, dropped out as the Health and Human Services director.  Fearless Leader President Obama told us Daschle was another person he stood by, "Absolutely."  Daschle was another "only one for the job" types who also failed to pay personal income taxes.  Like Geithner, Daschle didn't see these taxes as an issue until it was time to serve the new President and this obvious oversight (until being selected as a modern day apostle for The One) was lost on everyone in the MSM.

6.  Nancy Killefer, another tax dodger, withdraws as an Obama appointee.  She was up for the job "Chief Performance Officer".  WTF is a "Chief Performance Officer"?  She had a tax lien placed on her home, but she is not being villified as "Joe the Plumber" was for the same thing.  One must question The One to receive negative press it seems.

7.  Obama's extensive lists of lobbysists he has tapped for various government posts.  This wouldn't be so bad in and of itself if Obama himself hadn't said he wouldn't have lobbyists in his administration.  nor would it be an issue if Obama hadn't implemented a "lobbyist ban", and then turned around and already made 17 "exceptions" to the aforementioned ban in the past 14 days.  As Hot Air poster Ed Morrissey says, "What kind of governing philosophy is that, if not a big 'For Sale' sign on the White House, at least according to Obama’s own anti-lobbyist rhetoric on the campaign trail?  A lobbyist a day helps keeps accountability away."

8.  Obama's extensive use of Executive Orders and Presidential Memoranda.  12 EO's and Memo's issued in the past 14 days.  For some reason the phrase "Government by fiat" comes to mind...

9.  The "Stimulus".  40 years of progressive liberal spending dreams all wrapped up into one massive, gignatic crap sandwich.

Consider this a short list up to this point.  Of course if you are a progressive/liberal/Democrat some of these aren't really failures at all, but we don't need to expound on how liberals feel about anything the Obamamessiah does.

I don't think there is even a liberal public-school grading system out there that can polish up this turd of a report card.

AP sanitizes FEMA from Ice Storm report

One story critical of the lack of FEMA response to Kentucky after the big ice storm.

Another story from the same agency (AP) and the same reporters dated the same day, curiously not critical of FEMA.  In fact, there is no mention of a FEMA response at all in this story.

You can actually see the new Ministry of Truth forming before your very eyes...
