I guess the WTC isn't "shovel ready"?

I put this out there as a thought since I'm ripping it off from Ace who himself ripped it off from a commenter:
http://ace.mu.nu/archives/281928.php

No Money For This, I'm Guessing: Polynikes wries*:
I know of a shovel ready project that should have been ready to go yesterday.

The WTC.

* Verb form of "wry." I just made that s**t up. That's how I roll.

It is indeed interesting that going on EIGHT FRICKIN YEARS since the twin towers were attacked and destroyed, we still only have a hole in the ground at which to memorialize our loss.

Too many skilled, white construction workers on that project I guess.

Prostitution now a "sociological experiment"

So says this, umm, lady? who is "selling her virginity" to the highest bidder.  She calls it a "sociological experiment".

Funny.  I've heard of woman who sell themselves referred to as "mattress backs".

This story is a bit old, but the whore young lady apparently doesn't understand why those of use who hold to a higher set of cultural and moral values can be so darn critical of her decision.  She has a new opinion piece out attempting to justify her decision.  After all, her opinion about morality changed in college.  So that's what they're doing in those places of "higher learning"?  Those of us without a collegiate degree or who hold degrees from less culturally relevant institutions than this sk**k young lady are just trying to oppress women with our outmoded ideals by wanting to keep women in their proper place (barefoot and pregnant).  She's just doing her part to break through that particular remaining glass ceiling, you cretinous, chauvanist neaderthals!

I love how she attempts to smear men.  She seems to be saying that men are callous sex-hounds for wanting to pay to have sex with her.  Really?  Men are bad because they want to pay for sex - yet she should be held up as some paragon of female virtue for being the one doing the selling?  Men paying for sex is somehow oppresive but she selling herself is supposedly liberating?  How is it any man's fault that she's a sl*t confused feminst?

A more vilanous hive of scum and villainy you will not read today.  You should be cautious.  When you finish you will feel as I do that this person is simply a hooker troubled young lady.

I blame Bush.

Obama Officially a Warmonger, Murderer

Muslims Killed On Obama's Watch, Not Read Rights

I expect a full investigation into this atrocity against human rights. WTF? I mean, we're not even at war with Pakistan and we're launching missiles into it. We are losing our standing in the world. When will the killing end?

OBAMA = WARMONGER

Heh.

Obama annoyed by Press - for asking a question

President Obama lets it be known he will not tolerate questions when he is just "visiting" the White House Press Corps.  Foreshadowing of an imperial attitude?

Isn't it the expressed job on the media/press to ask pertinent questions, especially of the President (or his policies), when an opportunity presents itself?  Shouldn't the president make a good faith attempt to answer questions from the press, even though the timing or setting isn't conducive to doing so?  Shouldn't the president expect to get questions from the press, in the White House briefing room, prior to a press conference?  Shouldn't the president expect questions from the press wherever, whenever?

This is illustrative of Obama's arrogance.  How dare a reporter ask the president a question about his policies when the president isn't ready for them.  Obama does a good job at deflecting the reporter and any additonal questions by stating he's "just visiting" but the president has an obligation to answer questions as they are presented doesn't he?  The president should expect any question at any time, which is why the whole Joe the plumber episode erupted the way it did.  Obama was asked a question he didn't have a prepared answer for and his true feelings came out.  Obama was asked a question by a citizen, an honest and good question by the way, and he blew it for all intents and purposes.  Of course this is a tactic of reporters attempting to get some kind of off the cuff remark, but in this case it's not an ambush - Obama was visiting the White House Press Corp.

Obama has learned his lesson it would seem - do not answer questions from anyone, especially reporters, without a prior vetting and without his handlers present to make sure an innappropriate question isn't even asked.

"Ahh, see," he said, "I came down here to visit. See this is what happens. I can't end up visiting with you guys and shaking hands if I'm going to get grilled every time I come down here." Get grilled?  What?  He was asked a simple, rather straightforward question!  Anyone would be hard pressed to call what was asked a "grilling".

What Obama is saying is, in other words, if you are privilieged enough for me to grace you with my presence you will show the proper fealty and keep your mouths shut.

"I am very proud of him today. He got a fist bump from me."  No word from Howard Kurtz if this particular quote was from a lowly "clerical worker" or a psychophantic Obama supporter/reporter.

Most Imperial Presidency, EVAH!

"To the guy who mugged me..."

True or not, this will be the funniest thing you read today:

"I was the white guy with the black Burrberry jacket that you demanded I hand over shortly after you pulled the knife on me and my girlfriend. You also asked for my girlfriend's purse and earrings. I hope you somehow come across this message. I'd like to apologize.

I didn't expect you to crap your pants when I drew my pistol after you took my jacket. Truth is, I was wearing the jacket for a reason that evening, and it wasn't that cold outside. You see, my girlfriend had just bought me that Kimber 1911 .45 ACP pistol for Christmas, and we had just picked up a shoulder holster for it that evening. Beautiful pistol, eh? It's a very intimidating weapon when pointed at your head, isn't it?"

Obama's 1st Exemption to His Own Lobbyist Ban

Day 1:  Obama bans lobbyists from serving in his administration.

Day 2:  Obama issues 1st exemption from His ban.

We're barely 48 hours into the newest Age of Plenty with rainbows and skittles (not to mention Unicorns) and it's already getting difficult to count the number of incidents Obama has already blundered.

BTW, I have yet to receive my offical Everything Is Beautiful Obama Presidentiial Love Pac consisting of rainbows, unicorns, or skittles.

WTF?!

Obama's First Official Phone Call

Any of our allies in the GWoT?  How about European leaders?

Nope.

Abu Mazen, the leader of FATAH.

...who has terrorist background and terrorist units reporting to him, such as the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade?  How comforting.  Even as a tip of the hat to his focus on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, shouldn’t the first call have been to America’s ally, Israel?

In fact, the choice of this particular conflict makes little sense.  We have nations actually fighting alongside of us in Afghanistan in our own war on terror.  Nations like Canada, the UK, Australia, Holland, and others have joined us in combat and taken casualties to help further the West’s goal of defeating al-Qaeda and the Taliban.  They should have gotten more attention from our incoming president if only to recognize their sacrifice and ongoing commitment to our shared cause.

Instead, Obama chose to reach out to Abu Mazen, who participated in the plot to kill Israeli athletes in Munich during the 1972 Olympics, and who still runs terrorist organizations out of the Palestinian Authority.  Small wonder France has suddenly lost its enthusiasm for adding to the NATO contingent in Afghanistan.

Arab terrorists I'm sure hoped President Obama would bring change to US Middle-Eastern policy.  This more than certainly makes them very happy.

You waste 130 tons and whaddaya get?

A liberal in office and deeper in debt.  As well as the trashiest inaugural, EVAH (130 tons and counting):

Washington trash trucks hauled away at least 130 tons of garbage after the inauguration of President Obama, with more to go. National Park Service workers picked up almost 100 tons on the Mall and near the White House.

Perhaps you are an Obama apologist and want to deflect the trashiest inaugural evah by saying there is always trash after an event in Washington?  Ummm, not this much:

The trash generated at all other events ever held on the Mall paled compared with what was left Tuesday, Line said.

Over half a billion tons  of CO2 (estmated) for this inaugural.  Now the tons of solid waste generated which just adds to the waste stream and in itself is a GHG contributor once it gets into the land fill.

Wasn't this to be the 'greenest' inauguration evah?  Pics here, here, here.

A Note to Libtards

I posted yesterday about President Obama skiping the "Salute to Heroes" Inaugural Ball.  Some on the interwebs linked to my post (which I linked from Ace of Spades, who linked from This Ain't Hell) and some libtards were upset with what I posted.  I have one thing to say to those libtards upset with either what I posted, or what was linked:

Suck it.

George W. Bush put up with eight years of crap from you idiots on the left, now it's our turn.

As is typical, the libs fail to address the substance of the post: Obama skipped an inaugural Ball no other President has skipped in it's 56 year history.  The libs point out (just as I did in my post) that Obama did attend the Commander in Chief's Ball where he was appropriately saluted as the new CIC.  Is it nitpicking by those of us on the right making hay about him skipping this Ball?  Arguably it is, I admit that.  However, the greater point is:  One of the CiC's chief duties is honoring and upholding military tradition.  Honoring this nations wounded warrriors (Purple Heart awardees) as well as those who have received the nation's highest military honor (the Medal of Honor) is not to be relegated as a secondary or "non-official" attendance for the CiC.  That Obama didn't attend speaks to the man certainly, but the outcry of publicizing the fact he didn't attend this Ball speaks more to the intrinsic dislike and hatred of the military and its traditions by Obama supporters.

Obama was sure to attend other "non-mandatory" Balls, those populated with celebrities and big dollar donors, so the "non-mandatory" angle doesn't hold up under scrutiny.  He made it to the "Neighborhood Ball" - a first of its kind and one of the balls open to the public, was the first of 10 official balls that the Obamas were scheduled to attend.  Why is it that a ball which has been around almost sixty years isn't "official", yet a brand new Ball is?  Hmmm, interesting.

I also enjoy the failure to address the substance of the post yet point out my blog "is right wing".  Duh!  Really?  You're a sharp little libtard aren't you? What gave it away?  That my blog is part of Townhall or that I criticized your Messiah?  In this new era of unity and inclusion I suppose any opinion even considered mildly or remotely objectionable (not "right" as it were) isn't worthy of a hearing?  This is the same tactic used by global warming followers attempting to stifle debate,  "You're not a 'scientist' so what you say in refutation to our dogma science is irrelevant..." But the pre-eminent and credentailed climatologist Al Gore can say whatever he wants.  Try again losers!

The simple fact of the matter is, I'm not going to carry myself "above board".  The liberals and the Left in this nation did NOTHING for eight years but excoriate and criticize everything Bush, the "Right Wing" or Republicans did or didn't do, no matter how trivial or nonsensical it was.

A saying about "payback" comes to mind...

Obama Snubs Medal of Honor Recipients

President Obama attended the CiC Ball where he was honored appropriately by the troops.  When it came time to reciprocate, he failed to attend a Ball whose purpose is for the CiC to honor them.  The first President to skip miss the ball in its entire 56 year history.  Change was promised, wasn't it?

From AoS (via This Ain't Hell):

No time for Medal of Honor and Purple Heart recipients or paralyzed vets? Yeah, honeymoon...over.

From This Ain't Hell...

According to TSO who was at the “Salute to Heroes Inaugural Ball”, this newly sworn-in President for the first time in 56 years blew off the ball (that’s 14 Inaugurations).

Some background on the ball;

The American Legion sponsors the ball, which recognizes recipients of Medal of Honor, the nation’s highest military award. It started in 1953 for President Dwight D. Eisenhower’s first inauguration.

Event co-sponsors include 13 other veterans service organizations, among them the Military Order of the Purple Heart and the Paralyzed Veterans of America.

Obama did manage to make it to the Commander in Chief's Ball which was a good thing. Of course in 2005 George W. Bush managed to find time to make it to both balls. Of course, he didn't have the MTV and Neighborhood Balls as options. Kanye West was at one of them. How can you skip Kanye for some Medal of Honor winners? Dude!

Funny.  I thought it would take at least a day or two before he stuck his thumb in the military's eye.

This guy is good.

Obamabots trash Washington

Take a look at this photo:

capt.7d249c265a934f498f2a848402460546.inauguration_a_nation_gathers_dcck123.jpg

I guess President Obama's calls for a new era of responsibility went over well, huh?

They left behind plastic bottles, newspapers, food wrappers, gloves and even American flags they had been waving. Trash bins overflowed with items people tossed.

Twenty-one-year-old Laura Wiesner of Youngstown, Ohio, was on the cluttered Mall near the Smithsonian's American History Museum.

She says people's quick exit - and failure to pick up after themselves - was a stark contrast to how grand the event had been.

Taking a look at this photo and knowing how large this ceremonies carbon footprint is, the Obama/Biden economy-wide cap & trade program will come none to soon.

This photo is illustrative of a much greater point though and encapsulates liberalism rather well:  Liberals whole philosophy is based on getting other people to pick up the slack of the moocher.  Why would Obama supporters pick up after themselves when there are trash guys to do it for them?  Personal responsibility and accountability are anathema to your basic lib which relegates much of the Obama inaugural speech irrelevant.  Obama calls for people to pitch in, to come together, to work together, but they haven't the common decency to pick up their own trash.  To take the individualist spin off of it, they won't even pick up each others trash!  Obama is probably doomed to fail, not because of who he is neccessarily, but because the majority of those who support him won't do anything for anyone else, let alone themselves.

And don't get me started about the treatment of the American flags thrown in the trash.  More typical liberalism.  Is anyone really surprised?  The flag was important enough to wave for the inaugural, but not important enough to either dispose of properly or safeguard in a proper manner.  Have Obama supporters really changed how they feel about America?  You wouldn't know it by the reported treatment of "Old Glory".

More here.

Obama's a Centrist? Please...

A rundown of Obama's agenda, taken from the White House.gov website (in no particular order):

Repeal the Defense of Marriage Act.

Repeal "Don't Ask, Don't Tell".  (Surprisingly, this is in the Civil Rights section of the agenda, not Defense)

Close low performing charter schools
.  No mention of closing low performing public schools.  Huh.

Ensure 10% of our energy produced comes from renewable source by 2012
.  This one deserves a bit of discussion.  At best right now, we get around 2% (maybe 3% on a good day) from renewable energy - renewable read as solar and wind primarily.  According to Him, we are going to increase this number by almost 1000% in less than three years? Even a Obamaphile should have trouble swallowing that load or crap

Implement a economy-wide cap and trade system to reduce greenhouse gasses by 80% by 2050
.  Perhaps you think this wouldn't be such a bad thing?  Let's leave the debate about whether man-made global warming is a crisis, let alone really happening.  Let's for the sake of argument dissect this logically.  I've posted on this before, but here we go again:  Think of all the stuff you do in a typical day and think of all the energy you use to do that stuff - all the driving, the energy used by appliances in your home daily, all the stuff you do which contributes GHG's (and everything you do contributes, breathing alone accounts for tens of tons of released CO2 from every person every year).  Now, cut all of that current energy use by 80%.  Now superimpose that cut of energy use onto the entire economy of the entire country!  Think of EVERYONE (personal, business, government) having to cut out 80% of the stuff they do today, not to mention 40 years from now!  Perhaps you think we'll have less need for energy use by 2050?  This one agenda item alone belies the fact that Obama is anything but a centrist and would do more to, at the very least, reduce our standard of living by 80% than reduce any GHG's.

Shine light on earmarks and pork barrel spending.   I thought earmarks were going to be eliminated, not illuminated?  By refusing to flat out do away with earmarks and pork spending, Obama proves yet again he is indeed no centrist.

They had some jabs at Bush about Katrina, but I think I found another once.  Reform the political appointee process.  That's funny.  They call into questions former FEMA director Michael Brown, saying he was not qualified for his post (the same could be said for Obama, let's be honest) and resultant disaster was the result of said unqualification.  I guess Tim Geithner is immenently qulified to head the Treasury, taxes be damned?

Nationalized health care.  Definately not centrist.

Bring people out of the shadows on immigration.  Otherwise "comprehensive immigration reform".  That went over well back in 2007, let's give it another try.  I'm sure John McCain will be more than willing to lend a hand...

This is only a portion of the agenda.  Not in one place did I see we need to reduce or stop spending money we don't have.  Not once did I see we need to reduce the size of government.  In fact, Obama said we don't even need to debate the size of government anymore, big or small (in his inauguration speech).  I read a lot about "tax cuts" for those who need it, this is simply government welfare - nothing more - giving "tax cuts" (refunds) to those who don't pay tax.  No one has yet asked Obama how you give a tax cut to Americans who don't pay taxes, I'm just sayin.

I heard Bill Bennett of all people seemigly run interferance for Obama and this agenda on the radio this morning.  I was just shocked.  Paraphrasing:  "Maybe he's just trying to appease the lefty base  by posting this agenda.  He might still run to the center."  I have to respectfully disagree with Dr. Bennett.  I am more inclined to take Rush Limbaugh's stance.  Obama has a voting record, has made leftist appointments (though some could arguably be centrist), now this agenda is published on the White House website.  There is nothing centrist about Obama.  Ther eis definately nothing centrist about this agenda.  Continuing to say he might run to the center just confuses people.

President Obama is who he is - a leftist, with a socialist bent and down right Marxist tendencies.

Period.

Rainbows, Unicorns Postpone Entrance on World Scene

DOW down -332.13 as of 1504 CST.  That was apparently some great speech.

Ace comments on how Michelle Obama's dress was either a sacrificial set of bad drapes, or a Klingon ceremonial battledress.  Maybe Chewbacca's wife's housecoat.  Content Warning for some at the link.

Also at AoS, Newsbusters has a lot to link about.  Primarily, how the MSM has thrown away all pretense at objectivity and is perfectly happy kissing Obama's butt.  Oh, and they have plenty of good parting words about Bush.  Or not.

Hey, I'm just doing my part to encourage unity here.

I thought we moved past Race?

I thought the election of the Obamamessiah (Praised be His name) moved us to a "post-racial" world?

Not so much I guess:
Benediction at Obama 's inauguration, Rev. Joseph Lowery

: 'Lord, in the memory of all the saints who from their labors rest, and in the joy of a new beginning, we ask you to help us work for that day

Black will not be asked to get in back;

When Brown can stick around;

When Yellow will be mellow;

When the Red Man can get ahead, man;

And when White will embrace what is right.

That all those who do justice and love mercy say Amen. Say Amen'...

Was this a speech for 2008?  Or 1968?

When "white will embrace what is right"?  What?  Didn't we just swear in the 44th President of the United States, a BLACK man?!

I'm still wondering why in the 21st century we still focus on race in this country.  After reading (and hearing) this guys Benediction(?), not to mention practically the entire ceremony, I know why race is still an issue.
