US Postal Service get the US flag WRONG!

Yep.  A commemorative flag series showing a flag with too many stripes.

14 stripes instead of thirteen.

The United States Postal Service gets the United States Flag wrong on a commemorative stamp - AND NO ONE AT THE USPS CAUGHT IT?!!!  A stamp collector catches it!

Amazing.

What the "Greens" REALLY Want

The "greens" don't even want to hide it anymore.  This should erase any doubts as to the true agends of a "green".  What is even more frightening is this particular "green" wants to be Governer - of Washington State!

Our governor must convene a climate emergency session of the Legislature now to enact emergency World War II type mobilization laws:

  • Divert Boeing from airplanes and war machinery to solar, wind and wave power equipment.
  • Vastly increase public transport system (low-income citizens ride free).
  • Outlaw single-occupancy vehicles, except where no public transport exists.
  • Impose corporate carbon taxes rising to $500 per ton by 2020. Assess progressive personal carbon taxes rising to $500 per ton by 2020; low-income residents exempted from tax.
  • Establish strict carbon caps for industry, regions and government. Outlaw carbon trading. Begin personal carbon rationing. Direct carbon tax funds to poor to offset high food, housing and transportation costs. Direct carbon tax funds to global rainforest protection and other global south recipients.
  • Demand full withdrawal from Iraq. Divert war funds to climate programs.
  • Outlaw coal-fired power plants. Outlaw crop-based biofuels production and use.
  • Provide energy retrofit for all commercial and residential buildings.
  • Adopt new land-use law. Require affordable density. Stop sprawl. Protect all trees as "common good" that critically benefit climate. Require a permit before killing trees.
  • Environmental justice cannot occur without economic justice.
  • How about that last sentence.  Obama does draw doesn't he?

At least the he is supportive of military action in Afghanistan!  That was close.

I've been writing this a lot lately - Un.  Frickin.  Believeable!

I told you, they don't even care to be subtle in their relegattion of humanity.

Texans Want to Know - "Where's Our Gubmint Checks?"

A hurricane and a tropical storm in two weeks time.  I STILL don't have my free gubmint money!

    I demand an investigation!

    I demand impeachment hearings!

I demand fair and equitable treatment!  Those in New Orleans only had one storm; we've had TWO!  And they got all those freebies; all those fundraisers; all those debit cards!

I guess being a self-reliant yet supportive state and community doesn't rate the public outcry we saw in 2005?!

    I see how it is!

What?!  You say I don't deserve assistance?!!  Hey pal, it rained at my house!  Hard!  I even got my feet wet.  What do you know?  You weren't here!  You didn't go through what we here in Texas did!  You just don't know what it's like!  How could you know - you're not a Texan!

We've learned our lesson though!  We Texans aren't stupid!  Next time we have a bad storm, we'll wait and rely on public assistance; welfare, handouts and so forth before we do anything for ourselves!

I guess that's what we get for taking care of ourselves...

    Stupid Texans....

Alternative Fuels Breakthrough - Coal and Wood

Congrats Greens!  You got people interested in "alternative" fuels all right.  Coal and wood demand is through the roof!

When people, especially American people, are asked to ratchet back their standard of living for some unprovable global gain, they say they feel just terrible about pollution and global warming, but their actions say "Screw You, my kids aren't going to be cold this Winter."

Some of us in Northern climes have noticed this as a local phenomenon:

People are buying coal and wood burning furnaces at an astonishing rate for the middle of Summer.

Area stove installers and fuel dealers say climbing heating oil prices have promoted intense interest in coal and wood at a level not seen since the 1970s, when the Arab oil embargo roiled the markets and inspired many to seek energy alternatives. "Our sales are up easily 200 to 300 percent," said Eric Strom, co-owner of Kirley Masonry Supply Co. in Mansfield, which sells and installs wood pellet heating equipment.

    It ain't just local, folks.

    Story

Not since the Carter administration have water-cooler conversations been so dominated by the subject of heating alternatives such as pellet stoves, wood stoves, coal stoves and solar panels. Those options beat cranking up the thermostat and burning oil that's becoming as precious as gold.

As international energy experts search for a feasible alternative to gasoline, some people are simply turning to alternative ways to heat their homes.

Outdoor furnaces, which burn coal, seeds and wood, are becoming an increasingly popular commodity in the region, as the cost of natural gas, oil and electricity continue to climb.

    Coal, wood, seeds
....that stuff burns super squeaky-clean, right?

    Right?

Well, some of it does. But most people are going for cheap and dirty.

    As always. Bless their hearts.
