How "Green" was the Democratic Convention in Denver?
This "green":
In fairness, anyone with a bit of sense understands that any large event produces large amounts of garbage. But this event and the resultant waste is illustrative of a larger point: how rhetoric on environmental ("Green") policies can and does differ from reality. For all the hype the Dems put into proclaiming this a "green" convention; all the orders on special foods, wooden instead of plastic door "key" cards, etc. you can see what the end result is (and this is just a sampling of images).
Of course Lefties would argue that the Republicans are going to do the very same thing in St. Paul next week. Yes, that's true. The difference is the Republicans lack of sanctimony on the subject - which alleviates any possible eco-hypocrisy we see evidenced in these photos.
Side Note: Using Lefty Logic - how much CO2 was produced during this convention? How much energy was wasted? How much food was wasted? How much fuel (for cars, Limos, SUVs, private/commercial jets)? How much money was wasted on this convention which could have been used for schools, children, social programs, housing the homeless, insert liberal tear-jerking sancitmonious diatribe here?
Exit Question: The Democrats couldn't keep probably thousands of tons of trash from being produced at their so-called "Green" convention. Remember - this event was tailored to only a few hundred thousand people for FOUR DAYS and they couldn't pull off the "greeness" they advertised. How in the world do these people get away with saying we can do away with oil in ten years?
