Obama Snubs Troops Again

Soldiers or Hawaiian vacation?  Since our resident Troll is a "vet", he'll be glad to know the Obamamessiah is fond of the phrase:

"Get thee behind me Sat, er, U.S. Soldiers!"

Last month, Obama refused to do a military townhall for 6,000 veterans, service members, and military families at Fort Hood, Texas. That event would have taken place tonight, but Obama spokesman, Phillip Carter, said at the time Obama couldn't make it because “we unfortunately had a previously scheduled commitment on the date proposed.” But Obama doesn't have another event scheduled for this evening -- he's busy bodyboarding in Hawaii.

Let's get this straight: When Obama visits Europe, he'd rather address German hipsters than soldiers who were injured while fighting in Iraq. And now that he's back in America, he'd rather vacation in Hawaii than answer questions that our soldiers and their families have for him. Is there anything that would convince the self-proclaimed presumptive president that he'll have to address this country's military before he'll be ready to lead?

vote. obey. vote
And the Obamamessiah looked verily upon his boogy board and said,
"It is Good."  And that was the Second Day (of his vacation).

Nazi Offspring Designs Beijing Games

You know the Nazi architect of the 1936 Berlin Olympic Games?  Guess who designed the Chinese games?

Albert Speer, Jr.  Son of the infamous "first architect of the Third Reich."

Nothing like keeping the tradition of Totalitarianism going in the 21st century!

When the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics begins, viewers will be presented with a minutely choreographed spectacle swathed in nationalist kitsch. Of course, images that recall Hitler's goosestepping storm troopers are the last thing that China's leaders have in mind for their Olympics; after all, official Chinese nationalism proclaims the country's "peaceful rise" within an idyll of "harmonious development". But, both aesthetically and politically, the parallel is hardly far-fetched.

Indeed, by choosing Albert Speer Jr, the son of Hitler's favourite architect and the designer of the 1936 Berlin Olympics, to design the master plan for the Beijing games, China's government has itself alluded to the radical politicisation of aesthetics that was a hallmark of 20th century totalitarianism. Like those regimes, whether fascist or communist, China's leaders have sought to transform public space and sporting events into visible proof of their fitness and mandate to rule.

I've seen it written that one shouldn't be condemend for the sins of the father and all that, but in this case it appears the apple doesn't fall to far from the tree.

I wonder if this little factoid will show up in one of NBC's little "tribute" vids?

'The State is the guarantor of the future..."

A most chilling statement from the Olympic Opening Ceremony - spoken by an American!

How about that whole "from the children to the soldier" remark?

It's bad enough NBC is in the tank for the ChiComs.  It's quite another when, on worldwide television, COMMUSIM and STATISM  are glorified and touted as the saviour of a nation BY AN AMERICAN BROADCASTER!
