Beginning of the End of the Air Force?

I've been working on a post about the Air Force.  I just found this.  The Air Force is my service.  It is the service of many of my family members.  I love the Air Force.  I have given the Air Force 21 years of my life so far and those years have mostly been great.

The Air Force has it's problems though.  With this new information, something I have suspected may finally be happening - the Air Force may be relegating itself into obscurity.

August 11, 2008: The U.S. Air Force is, for the first time, converting a fighter wing from manned (F-16) combat aircraft, to unmanned ones (the MQ-9 Reaper.) The conversion, for the 174th Fighter Wing, has been in the works for three years, and the last combat sorties in manned aircraft were flown last week, by members of the 174th serving in Iraq.

I could make quips about "The Rise of the Machines" or make lame "Terminator" jokes.  But this (amongst other things) probably spells the beginning of the end of the Air Force.

Stay tuned for more.

The Glorious Truths of Obama!

  1. Obama's bathroom has two toilets. One is made of gold and the other one is made of wood. Obama only uses the wooden toilet out of solidarity with the downtrodden. The sight of the golden toilet helps him to maintain class conscience.
  2. Obama owns an expensive Sleep Number Bed but sleeps on an off-brand mattress in the corner in order to be down with the masses.
  3. When Obama buys caviar he always tries to get the one that is runny and tastes fishy, because that's the kind of caviar that the downtrodden eat.
  4. When Obama's children get sick, he buys them the cheapest generic drugs. It helps him better to commiserate with the downtrodden.
  5. Obama's bank once offered him a low 5.5% mortgage but he refused because he wanted to experience the bitterness the way all other Americans feel it.
  6. Tony Rezko once offered Obama a sweetheart land deal, but Obama said "no" because he wanted his family to stay within the community of which he was the organizer.
  7. Obama once had a chance to save 10% on car insurance by switching to Geico but he said "no" because that would mean a sellout to corporate interests.

Radical Islamist Leads Convention "Interfaith Service"

The DNC Convention - naturally.  It's sure to be a Convention filled to overflowing with radicalism.  With all the lefty wacked-out protesters, the convention being run by a "black liberation" theologian, not to mention Obambi's bombing Chicago buddies, and now this:

Has anyone at the DNC even taken a minute to look into her background? If they did, they'd find this:

Though Dr. Ingrid Mattson appears moderate, she is insidious precisely because she maintains that facade while steadfastly refusing to criticize radical Islamists, claiming that there is no such thing as Wahhabism and that the term "Islamic terrorism" should not be used in the media. Most shocking of all, though, is how little concern she expressed about suicide bombings in an essay she wrote shortly after 9/11.

At a CNN-sponsored "town hall" forum in October 2001, Mattson — with a straight face — claimed that the radical, Saudi-sponsored form of Islam known as Wahhabism was akin to the Protestant movement in Christianity. Wahhabism "really was analogous to the European protestant reformation," she explained.

This wasn't an isolated use of the analogy. At a November 2003 roundtable sponsored by the Center for Strategic and International Studies Conference, Mattson said the Wahhabist movement in Islam is "a very old struggle …between the more theologically austere Muslims who like Protestant Christianity believe that there should be no saints there should be no intervention between you and G-d."

Mattson takes a similar "see no evil" approach to the idea of Islamic terrorism. Mattson was one of several Muslim "scholars" quoted in a Washington Times article shortly after 9/11 who claimed that the media should not use the term "Islamic terrorism." Mattson took this stance despite the fact, as the Times paraphrased her, that "Islamic terrorists themselves use this term."

The reason Mattson is able to pass herself off as a moderate is probably because she clears the low bar set for most Muslims: the ability to explicitly condemn suicide bombings. But she hasn't done so for very long. In a remarkably revealing essay Mattson penned for Beliefnet.com in October 2001, she wrote that, until then, Palestinian suicide bombings "simply did not cross my mind as a priority among the many issues I felt needed to be addressed." She stated it as matter-of-factly and inconsequentially as someone who apologizes for forgetting to pick up the dry cleaning because it "simply did not cross my mind as a priority."

If the DNC indeed did a background check and still cleared her to speak, it says volumes about them, considering the ISNA was named as an unindicted terror co-conspirator in the Holy Land trial last year.

Messiah to "herald economic upswing"

A "boost of 1,000 points to the stock market" the first WEEK after he's elected!  Add this to how he'll heal the planet, cause the seas to recede...we'd be stupid NOT to vote for the Obamamessiah.

I do detect a racist undertone however:

Then after noting that he had been a supporter of U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton’s presidential effort, Young talked about reading Obama’s book that traced his upbringing —- son of a man from Kenya and a woman from Kansas; a mother who moved with him to Indonesia before Obama moved to Hawaii to live with his white grandparents.

“When I read that, I thought this boy has the DNA to be president,” Young told the audience. “That makes him much more acceptable to the rest of the world of any president we’ve had so far.”

Would that be read tsince the Messiah is black, he'd be better to relate to the rest of the world?  Perhaps Mr. Young hasn't heard of Mugabe?  Edi Amin?  Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but even read in the quote in context as above, that's what I take from it.

And of course once Obama is elected, all of our finacial woes would be HEALedaaa:

More importantly, Young strongly believes that the economic future for the United States is inextricably connected to the rest of the world.

“It’s technically impossible to be self-sufficient,” Young said. “In order to maintain our leadership in a global economy we have to work with the rest of the world. With the transfer of technology, we either lead the world or we get trampled by it.”

And because Obama would be welcomed by global leaders, Young believes his presidency would have a dramatic beneficial impact in the United States.

Nothing would have more impact on the economy and the price of oil than his election as president,” Young said. “There would be a boost of 1,000 points on the stock market the first week after he’s elected. This would be better than a chicken in every pot.”

A commenter on at the link:  Amazing. This guy thinks economics is based upon international likability.

I would ask this:  If the force that is the Obamamessiah would have such an impact on the economy, why isn't his influence having more of a positive effect now?  Since Obama became the presumptive Democrat nominee, the stock market has tanked and oil reached record HIGH prices.

I guess economies and markets ARE influenced by more than hope.

I suppose we should just have faith in the Obamamessiah.  And Hope he doesn't suck all of our savings and retirement dry.

A Bear invades in the woods...

As the recent conflict in the Russian Caucuses shows, the Bear is alive, well and still has designs on their "neighbors".

Take a look at these two videos:

Ummm...not so much.

I've posted off and on about Russia's return to "aggressive" foreign policy and military stances for over a year now.  Russia is not "reformed", they simply had to spend some time recovering from their problems of the 80's and after the Wall fell.  Sure, they aren't as obvious about their sinisteriness, but they are the same totalitarian type regime, driven by the same wants and desires as they were duing their outwardly Communist years.

This recent unpleasantness bears close watching.  And as the videos above illustrate, Obambi has a woefully naive attitude to deal with such problems.  Follow the link above for an anlysis of Obama's and McCain's responses to this.  Obama has already changed his position on this in one day.

Shocka, I know.
