"I Apologize" but blame Right Wingers, Falwell

This is the apology offered by Ex-Dem Chair Don Fowler for making light of possible destruction from Hurricane Gustav and it's coinciding with the Republican National Convention:

"If this offended anybody, I personally apologize," Fowler told ABC News. "It was a mistake, and it was a satirical statement made in jest. And one that I clearly don't believe."

"One doesn't anticipate that one's private conversation will be surreptitiously taped by some right-wing nutcase," said Fowler. "But that's the nature of what we're dealing with."

Fowler said his remark was "facetious" and a "satirical comment" on the late Rev. Jerry Falwell.

"I believe in a benevolent God," said Fowler. "I'm a religious person. It was a facetious statement, some might even say satirical, play off of what Falwell said."

"If it offended anybody. I'm sorry for that," said Fowler. "I don’t think anybody in America wishes for something bad to happen to New Orleans. I certainly don't."

This is what (and how) he said it:

His apology is pure, unadulterated, BULLSHINOLA!

Here we have yet another Lefty caught "telling it like it really is" in their minds.  Mr. Fowler had nothing on his mind but how this event would best be used by the Left (particularly those in his own Party), NOT about how this will affects real people's lives.

Mr. Fowler is a scumbag of the 1st Order!

Is there a Lefty on the ENTIRE PLANET that when caught doing something wrong/stupid CAN AND WILL ACCEPT SOME DAMN PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY AND NOT COUCH ANY SUPPOSED "APOLOGY" IN BLAMING OTHERS?!!

Hey Obama, was Palin "punished with a baby?"

Two questions for the Obamamessiah (with great accompanying vids for effect):

1) Given the fact that Sarah Palin's youngest child has Down Syndrome, do you believe that the governor and her husband were "punished with a baby"?

2) If, at the last minute, Gov. Palin had decided that she did not want the baby, should it have been legally permissible to allow him to die unattended in a linen closet in order to preserve a woman's "right to choose"?

"Climate Policy" = Social Engineering

If you live in North Carolina (or anywhere if the alarmists/activists have their say) here's what supposed "climate policy" will do for you:

At the present time the North Carolina Legislative Commission on Climate Change - co-chaired by Rep. Pricey Harrison, D-Guilford, and John Garrou, lawyer, environmental activist, and husband of Sen. Linda Garrou, D-Forsyth - is considering a set of policy proposals that, if enacted, would dramatically reduce our freedoms and impact our prosperity. The alleged goal of these proposals is to change the climate a hundred or so years from now. The actual effect is to micromanage our lives today. If enacted, these mandates would, through regulations and taxes, attempt to tell the citizens of North Carolina:

• How we can travel and commute,
• Where we can live,
• The size homes we can live in,
• The amount of land we can live on,
• The size cars we can drive,
• How we can generate electricity,
• How much energy we can use,
• The kinds of appliances we can have in our homes,
• How we can light, heat, and cool our homes, and even
• How we can purchase automobile insurance.

And there is no evidence that these restrictions on our freedom, even if enacted by every country on the planet, will have any noticeable impact on the climate - not in 100 years, not in 200 years.

Let me point out that this list represents only a fraction of the 56 proposals that, if enacted, begin the process of remaking the lifestyles of North Carolinians in the image of environmental ideologues and extremists. As Al Gore has pointed out, the fight against global warming will require “a wrenching transformation of American society,” and as Barack Obama has warned (threatened?): “We can’t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times”

Biden the Buffoon

Did you know Biden was from Pennsylvania?  Watch this video; he says it about a billion times:

From Hot Air:

If people worry how Sarah Palin will stack up against Joe Biden as a campaigner, perhaps this video clip of Biden introducing Barack Obama yesterday in Pennsylvania might help answer it.  Biden struggles to articulate his words, offers a weird version of his childhood move out of Scranton, and in general comes across a little buffoonish.

"Greenest" Convention = Tons of Garbage/Waste

How "Green" was the Democratic Convention in Denver?  This "green":

In fairness, anyone with a bit of sense understands that any large event produces large amounts of garbage.  But this event and the resultant waste is illustrative of a larger point:  how rhetoric on environmental ("Green") policies can and does differ from reality.  For all the hype the Dems put into proclaiming this a "green" convention; all the orders on special foods, wooden instead of plastic door "key" cards, etc. you can see what the end result is (and this is just a sampling of images).

Of course Lefties would argue that the Republicans are going to do the very same thing in St. Paul next week.  Yes, that's true.  The difference is the Republicans lack of sanctimony on the subject - which alleviates any possible eco-hypocrisy we see evidenced in these photos.

Side Note:  Using Lefty Logic - how much CO2 was produced during this convention?  How much energy was wasted?  How much food was wasted?  How much fuel (for cars, Limos, SUVs, private/commercial jets)?  How much money was wasted on this convention which could have been used for schools, children, social programs, housing the homeless, insert liberal tear-jerking sancitmonious diatribe here?

Exit Question:  The Democrats couldn't keep probably thousands of tons of trash from being produced at their so-called "Green" convention.  Remember - this event was tailored to only a few hundred thousand people for FOUR DAYS and they couldn't pull off the "greeness" they advertised.  How in the world do these people get away with saying we can do away with oil in ten years?

A Proud DAD Again Today

My son enlisted in the United States Air Force yesterday afternoon!  I stood at attention as he (and a few others) were given the Oath of Enlistment here in San Antonio.

When my son enters active duty, he will continue an uninterrupted line of Steely's serving in our nation in the Armed Force (continually) since 1942.  He will also be the fifth member of our family (my and my wife's side) who are on active duty currently serving!

My son continues a proud family tradition and I couldn't be happier!

Above All!

Obama Pwn3d By McCain - Again

With the Palin pick, the McCain campaign outflanks the Obamamessiah - again.

Perhaps someone on the right will make a video.  something like, "If Obama continues getting outdone by an "old" man like McCain, just how well can we expect him to deal with America's foreign enemies...".  Something like that.

All things considered, this was a great pick by McCain.  More here and here

Bidens "Brilliant" Foreign Policy "Gravitas"

Is wanting to give Iran $200M taxpayer dollars.  After 9/11.  So they won't get mad at us.  Or something.

At the Tuesday-morning meeting with committee staffers, Biden launches into a stream-of-consciousness monologue about what his committee should be doing, before he finally admits the obvious: "I'm groping here." Then he hits on an idea: America needs to show the Arab world that we're not bent on its destruction. "Seems to me this would be a good time to send, no strings attached, a check for $200 million to Iran," Biden declares. He surveys the table with raised eyebrows, a How do ya like that? look on his face.

The staffers sit in silence. Finally somebody ventures a response: "I think they'd send it back." Then another aide speaks up delicately: "The thing I would worry about is that it would almost look like a publicity stunt." Still another reminds Biden that an Iranian delegation is in Moscow that very day to discuss a $300 million arms deal with Vladimir Putin that the United States has strongly condemned. But Joe Biden is barely listening anymore. He's already moved on to something else.

This is almost too easy...

NOAA Uses Fake Imagery In Climate Report

The National Climate Data Center who falls under...drum roll please... NOAA (shocka!) placed photoshopped images of climate disasters in their upcoming "scientific" climate report.  (NOAA is reponsible for this monstrosity.  Go to the draft here.  Scroll down to the second page.  A whole lotta people with NOAA after their names...)

Here is the image:

What exactly is wrong with this photo?  The flood waters have been "graphically rendered" into the original image.  The image was purchased from this site which comes with accompanying photographers desciption of the digital "adjustment":

Here is the photo containd on the accompanying NCDC page:

Pink arrow pointintg tho the "shopped" image

But the real question is, with so many different photos of real flooded houses available, why did they choose one that was not real? Surely they know such a report will be highly scrutinized?

As I said last week, the use of graphics in the report makes it look more like a news article than a scientific paper, and if principal National Climatic Data Center authors Dr.’s  Thomas Karl and Peterson can’t even bother to check if the photos they use are real or not, or even spot such obvious fakes, it makes one wonder just how much fact checking went into the other parts of the report.

Do you think our policy makers, for which this report is intended, would be smart enough to catch such things?

Of course Al Gore did the same thing in his (I still can't believe this) Academy Award winning "documentary "An Inconvenient Truth".  Link to the video forgery here.

This whole exercise begs the question:  If the science is so settled; if the facts are indeed incontrovertable, why is there ANY NEED WHATSOEVER to use subterfuge, faked, or otherwise un-real imagery to make your point?  Shouldn't the "science" be able to stand on it's own merits?

These are the people we are "trusting" to brief our legislators and leaders about "climate change".  And they can't even fact check their own report?  They are purposefully using scare tactics and fabricated imagery?  And these are to be the "end all, be all" arbiters of this issue?

Until someone can come into these agencies who can be unbiased and honest about the real science and keep the politics out, I will continue to be skeptical of anything they say when it comes to "climate change/global warming".
