Why are people infatuated with "Change"?

People frickin HATE change.

Think about it.  Think about your own life.  When have you ever truly, enthusiastically, embraced change?  Very few times I'll bet.

How many times have you been PO'd when your favorite radio station changed it's format?  When your favorite restaraunt changed it's menu?  When your local highway crews changed the roads or speedlimits?

Were you REALLY hyped when Coca-Cola changed it's formula back in the 80's?

How many of you ever worked in a job during a management switch which precipitated "change for the sake of change"?  How did that work out for ya?  Aside from extra hours at work, working on the weekends and creating graphs and killing trees re-publishing mission and vision statements, I'd bet that "change" didn't do anything but drive you to the precipice of insanity.

And what was the common denominator for those "changes"?

They were all justified as being more efficient, more user-friendly, more economical, more healthy.  Something as nebulous as "more".  But what it really meant was more inconvenience for you; fewer choices, fewer real options.  That change always meant "more" of something for some government agency, but less of something when it came to you.

The average American can't get motivated to re-arrange the furniture in their living room to "change" the layout, but they are willing to go along with a liberal Democrat like Obama all for the sake of "change"?

Changing what?

He has offered no "change" at all, only the tried and true liberal playbook of the last forty-five years.  He is offereing the same old thing.  More spending on education.  More spending on social welfare.  More spending in the government.  More taxes.  More appeasement to our enemies.  More of the same thing liberal Democrats like him have offered time and time again.  Yet have those proposed "changes" actually changed anything?  We continue to spend more on education - test scores keep going down.  We spend more on welfare - yet we still haven't won the "war on poverty".  We want to continue raising taxes instead of cutting spending - though no nation EVER taxed itself into prosperity.

How is that "Change" again?

I am constantly reminded when I see and hear Obama supporters of something I was taught as a young law enforcement troop when I first entered the Air Force.  The first thing my first supervisor ever taught me was this:  The First Rule of Law Enforcement is - People are Basically Stupid.

It seems that's one thing which will never change.
