Terror or Lettuce?

Here's your answer - a study in contrasts:

Michael Chertoff, the Chief of the Department of Homeland Security has 'talked down' reports of Al Qaeda attacks this summer.

He does however worry about the failure of 'immigration reform'.

It's good to know that the man charged with 'securing the homeland' is less concerned about terror attacks than illegals picking lettuce.

Way to go Mike!  (H/T: MichelleMalkin.com)

7/7/07 - Goracle Day!

Here's an analysis of the Goracles recent op-ed prefacing the soon-to-be Live Earth concerts.

Be sure to do your part this Live Earth Day.  Have a party!  Bar-B-Que mass quantities of tasty animal flesh!   Be sure to use your propane or charcoal grill!  Consume exceedingly copious amounts of adult beverages while eating said animal flesh and other manufactured food items containing additives and preservatives!

Enjoy yourself this Live Earth Day!  You don't know how long you'll be able to do such things if the Goracle and his minions get their way!

"I was a fanatic..."

So says a reformed radical Islamist.

A great read folks and an awesome look into the minds of our enemies.

Where's the Concert for Mother Teresa?

I remember watching the farce over the death of 'Princess' Diana in 1997.  I also juxtaposed the media coverage of her death as opposed to Mother Teresa.

Both died only about a month apart and the contrast in the remembrance of both was/is startling.

We are still inundated with glamorous and glorious renditions of the 'life' and 'accomplishments' of Diana.  What did she do?  OK, she didn't like land mines.  And she was a humanitarian after a fashion.  But most people do good things in their life and never receive the adulation Diana did and continues to get.

Mother Teresa was a person of sacrifice and selflessness of the first order.  She spent her ENTIRE life honoring God and helping people all over the world.  She didn't jump into the spotlight after a media blitzful marriage and didn't live her life for the sake of herself.

I was truly saddened by the loss of Mother Teresa when she died.  I had never met her and knew her only through her deeds.  When Diana died I remember not feeling much shock and n sadness.  I was appalled that Diana was honored as such a paragon of virtue.  I don't mean to come down on Diana, but does she really deserve the praise of the world?

Diana, though she did good works, lived her life in a fashion unbecoming one given the adulation she receives.  Mother Teresa lived a life deserving remembrance and celebration, yet receives neither from the world.

How sad is that?
